S31803 Duplex

S31803 Duplex Stainless Steel (Duplex 2205) is a high‑performance duplex alloy combining the strength of ferritic grades with the corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steels. It offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress‑corrosion cracking, along with high mechanical strength for demanding industrial environments.

Key Features

This duplex grade delivers nearly twice the yield strength of common austenitic stainless steels, excellent chloride and sulfide stress‑corrosion cracking resistance, and improved fatigue performance in aggressive environments. Its balanced ferrite‑austenite microstructure also offers good weldability and reduced thermal expansion compared with many stainless steels.

Typical Applications
  • Offshore oil & gas platforms, risers, piping and manifolds
  • Chemical process vessels, heat exchangers and pumps
  • Marine systems including seawater cooling, desalination, and ship‑building
  • Pulp & paper plants and flue‑gas desulphurization (FGD) equipment
  • Structural and load‑bearing applications where high strength and corrosion resistance are required
Forms of Supply

Supplied in plates, sheets, bars, pipes, tubes and forgings in solution‑annealed condition. Cut‑to‑size, machined and finished formats available, with certifications and testing options tailored for UAE & Gulf region projects.
