Thermal, Electrical & Miscellaneous Properties
- Melting Point (approx.): ~977 °C liquidus/solidus for this alloy family.
- Thermal Conductivity: ~58 W/m·K (approx at room temperature)
- Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion: ~18 ×10⁻⁶ /K (20‑200°C)
- Electrical Conductivity: ~12% IACS @20 °C – moderate.
- Wear & Abrasion Resistance: Good under sliding contact and moderate load when adequately lubricated.
- Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to brine and seawater; not prone to dezincification.
- Machinability: Excellent – lead content gives very good free‑machining performance compared to similar bronzes.
