  • Carbon (C): 0.38–0.43% – Provides medium tensile strength and hardenability.
  • Manganese (Mn): 0.75–1.00% – Improves toughness and ductility.
  • Silicon (Si): 0.15–0.35% – Adds strength and hardness.
  • Nickel (Ni): 0.25% max – Enhances toughness and core strength.
  • Chromium (Cr): 0.80–1.10% – Improves hardenability and wear resistance.
  • Molybdenum (Mo): 0.15–0.25% – Boosts toughness and elevated temperature performance.
  • Phosphorus (P): 0.035% max – Limits brittleness.
  • Sulfur (S): 0.040% max – Improves machinability.
