1.4462 Duplex

Where Strength Meets Sophistication — Stainless Steel that Redefines Durability, Precision, and Lasting Elegance for Every Application.

You are here:

1.4462 Duplex

1.4462 duplex stainless steel, also known as “2205”, combines the strength of ferritic steels with the corrosion resistance of austenitic grades. This duplex 1.4462 offers high yield strength and excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress-corrosion cracking, making it suitable for demanding offshore, marine, and industrial environments.

Key Features

This grade provides nearly double the strength of standard austenitic stainless steels, with a balanced duplex microstructure of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite that enhances mechanical and corrosion performance. Stainless steel 1.4462 also offers good weldability under proper controls, supporting critical applications in chemical, oil and gas, and marine sectors.

Typical Applications
  • Offshore and marine structural components, risers and platforms
  • Chemical processing equipment, storage tanks and piping
  • Pressure vessels and heat exchangers in chloride rich or aggressive environments
  • Oil & gas production and transport systems where strength and corrosion resistance combine
Forms of Supply

Available as plates, sheets, bars, pipes, and fittings in solution annealed condition, with cut to size options for industrial projects. As a leading 1.4462 duplex stainless steel supplier, we serve clients across UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia with certified materials for reliable performance.

1.4462 duplex stainless steel combines the strength of ferritic steels with the corrosion resistance of austenitic grades. Additionally, this duplex 1.4462 material performs well in challenging environments. It also offers strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Its balanced structure makes stainless steel 1.4462 suitable for demanding industrial conditions.

Steel 1.4462 is available in plates, sheets, bars, and pipes to support a wide range of applications. For example, industries commonly use this 1.4462 material in oil and gas, marine, chemical processing, and industrial engineering projects. In these cases, strength, durability, and corrosion resistance are critical.
